Your first session begins with a full intake — your history, current concern, lifestyle, and what you have already tried. Time is taken to understand the pattern, not just the symptom. Treatment typically begins in the same session. You will leave with a clear understanding of what was found and what the next steps are.
Initial assessments are typically 60 minutes. Follow-up sessions are 45 minutes. Acupuncture sessions vary between 45 and 60 minutes depending on the treatment.
Most Dutch supplementary health insurance (aanvullende verzekering) covers physiotherapy sessions. An invoice is provided after each session for direct submission to your insurer. Acupuncture coverage depends on your specific policy. Checking with your insurer in advance is recommended.
Yes. All sessions are available in full English. Guidance on navigating Dutch health insurance as an international resident is also provided.
This depends on your condition, its duration, and how your body responds. No fixed number of sessions is committed to upfront — progress is reassessed regularly and communicated clearly. Some conditions resolve in two or three sessions. Others benefit from longer, structured programmes.
Yes — and in some cases, this produces the best outcomes. A combined approach is assessed for appropriateness and explained clearly. You are never pushed toward more treatment than is needed.
Japanese acupuncture uses significantly finer needles and gentler stimulation. The focus is on precise, minimal input that the nervous system can receive without resistance. Many patients who have found Chinese acupuncture too strong respond very well to the Japanese approach.
