Fees, insurance, and how to reach the clinic

Physiotherapy with Hidekazu Kuwabara, a BIG-registered physiotherapist, is €68 for 25 minutes and €126 for 55 minutes. You do not need a GP referral to book.

Alter Physio & Acupuncture has no contracts with Dutch health insurers (ongecontracteerde praktijk). You pay the clinic, receive an invoice, submit it to your insurer yourself, and your insurer then reimburses you. Whether you are reimbursed, for how many sessions and how much depends on your own supplementary insurance (aanvullende verzekering); at a non-contracted practice reimbursement is partial, not full. The same applies to house visits. Depending on your policy, employer-provided or international insurance often covers physiotherapy in full. International insurance accepted. Please check with your insurer before you start.

Acupuncture is a private-pay treatment provided by our Japan-licensed acupuncturists. It is not covered by Dutch health insurance. Depending on your policy, employer-provided or international insurance often covers it in full.

Cancel at least 24 hours ahead and there is no charge. A cancellation inside 24 hours is 50% of the fee. A missed appointment is the full fee. Those charges are not reimbursed by an insurer.

Will Dutch insurance pay the invoice?

Is acupuncture the same fee?

No. Acupuncture is private pay, provided by Japan-licensed acupuncturists, and is not reimbursed through Dutch health insurance.
